चुनाव के उद्देश्य से राज्य को जनसंख्या के आधार पर विभिन्न निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों में बाँटा जाता है। जनता इन निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों से अपने प्रतिनिधियों का चयन करती है। एक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से राज्य विधानसभा के लिए चुना गया व्यक्ति विधायक कहलाता है। वह उस क्षेत्र विशेष की जनता का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है।

(ii) विधानसभा में बहस के दौरान राज्य की जनता को यह पता हो जाता है कि मुख्यमंत्री और अन्य मंत्रियों द्वारा नीति संबंधी या कार्यकारी संबंधी निर्णय ठीक हैं या गलत क्योंकि लोकतंत्र में अंततः सत्ता जनता में ही निहित होती है।

(iii) मुख्यमंत्री व अन्य मंत्रियों द्वारा सत्ता के दुरुपयोग पर रोक लगाने के लिए भी मंत्रियों द्वारा लिए गए निर्णयों पर रोक लगाना आवश्यक है।

(iv) बहस के माध्यम से मंत्रियों के उन निर्णयों पर रोक लगाई जा सकती है जो जनहित में नहीं होते। (५) यह मंत्रियों को सही दिशा में कार्य करने को प्रोत्साहित करती है।

(i) पातालपुरम में पानी की कमी थी और बहुत से लोग बीमार पड़ गए थे। इस क्षेत्र के अनेक गाँवों में गंदा पानी पीते हुए लोग मर गए। नदी-नाले और तालाब सूख गए थे। जो क्षेत्र और गाँव जल की कमी से बुरे प्रभावित हो गए थे वहाँ लोग दूर-दूर से पानी लेकर आते थे।

(ii) जिला मुख्यालय पातालपुर में तीन दिन में केवल एक बार जल की आपूर्ति की जाती थी। जिला चिकित्सालय में मरीजों की बहुत बड़ी संख्या थी और लोग बड़ी संख्या में अपने पीड़ित बच्चों को ला रहे थे। दूरदर्शन पर यह भी बताया गया कि हैजे के कारण 10 लोग मृत्यु के मुख में चले गए थे।

This is the story of how elephant came to have trunk. There was a baby elephant, Golu who had a small bulgy nose. He made fun of giraffe; hippopotamus, baboon. All of them had no answers for his questions.

One day Golu wanted to find out that what crocodile would eat for dinner. He went to Limpopo river to find out. When Golu reached the bank, he thought the crocodile to be a log of wood.

The story begins in Madison Square where Soapy a homeless, jobless man is searching for a place to stay as winter is fast approaching. His hopes are not to sail to some high destination but to just reach prison on Blackwell’s Island.

The narrator of the story was nine-years old when he was given to take care of five months old elephaiìt, Kan. Both ofthein grew together. The first thing which Kan did was to save the life of a boy. Every morning narrator took Kan for a bath which he enjoyed. After the bath, narrator vent to get delicate and tender twigs. One day the narrator heard a strange sound. 11e ran very fast and found that elephant was struggling very hard in the water.
