Gessler is a German shoemaker. He is perfectly skilled and devoted to their work. The writer knew Mr. Gessler from his youth. Mr. Gessler had actually two little shops. The boots made by him were mysterious and wonderful. He took such a long time that his customers kept on falling. Entering Mr. Gessler’s shop was like entering the Church. Gessler took a long time to appear. When he was disturbed from his work, he felt disturbed.
One day the writer explained to him that last pair of boots creaked. Gessler lowered his eyes. He seemed to be hunting for memory. He asked the writer to send them back. Once the writer went into the shop in a pair of shoes bought from a large firm in emergency. Gessler was very hurt. He talked against the large firms having, no self-respect. The writer tried to explain and ordered many pairs of shoes.
